DIY: make your own cards with watercolours
With Halloween (and in the US, Thanksgiving) coming up, I wanted to create a simple but nice DIY for you. With some thick watercolour paper, watercolours and some brushes you can create these yourself in no time!
These cards are perfect to say thank you to your bestie, mum or whoever needs to hear it from you! Or you can make them with “just because”. Or you can make ‘m for Halloween - add a nice treat to it and give it to all the kids who come to say “trick or treat” at your door!
What do you need?
1 piece of A4 watercolour paper (around 250 or 300mg thick)
a pencil
watercolour
a brush
some water in a jar
a rag or cloth to clean your brushes
a measuring stick of 30cm
1 A4 vellum paper (it’s very see through)
some paperclips or mini clips
How do you make them?
Divide the A4 papier in 4 equal parts.
Go over the edge of your 4 pieces of paper with a wet brush.
Pick a colour in your palette and then go over the wet part of your paper, so you can create a nice watercolour effect.
Be sure to let it dry well!
You can stop here, or when you want, divide your vellum paper in 4 equal parts like you did with your watercolour paper.
Write on the piece of vellum a nice quote or word.
Hang your watercolour paper together with the vellum and a nice paperclip.
Done!
Are you going to try this nice DIY yourself? What are you going to write on the cards? Please tag me on Instagram, so I can see them!
